Love Is In The Air

Today, I observed many flags waving in the breeze.
They seemed to be cheering on this day of Love.
As I reflected on facebook comments of people who love this day
and people who hate this day, I wondered...
Is it about flowers?

Is it about candy?

Is it about cards?

Is it about intimacy?

I was reminded of the greatest LOVE.

John 3:16
For God so Loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope God's Love shines from your heart today and always!!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Well, I think I spoiled my husband.  He told me that he was
a bit disappointed when he went to his car at lunch
and there was no surprises for him.
So today I thought I would take him some of these treats.
I melted dark chocolate chips over a double boiler.
Then dipped some strawberries that I got at Ralph's.
After rinsing and drying them and pulling off the hulls.
I found it easier to use a wooden skewer to dip the strawberries.

I packaged three strawberries on parchment paper.
Added a red napkin and placed a  recycled red bow
in the corner of my recycled strawberry container.
Hand delivered with LOVE!!

Conversation Heart and Cookies

Another surprise for my husband.
I left them in this truck at work.
Cookies and a handmade conversation heart.

1 cup crisco butter shortening
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
4 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups AP flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Hershey Milk Chocolate Hearts or Dove Dark Chocolate Hearts

Cream together shortening, peanut butter, and sugars.
Add eggs, milk, and vanilla.  Add flour, soda and salt.
Use a melon scoop to scoop dough into a ball.
Roll balls of dough in extra granulated sugar.
Bake on a pan lined with parchment paper
for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees
While still warm press in a chocolate heart.
Makes 48 cookies.

Something Sweet

Something Sweet

My husband has been feeling a little blue lately.
With a layoff looming he has just been a little down.
So I thought why wait until Valentine's Day
to do something special for him.

So I put this hanging tag together for him.
Bought some Dark Chocolate Dove Hearts.
And drove to his work, found his truck, and
put the tag and the chocolates on the drivers seat.
Here is the front.

Here is the back.

Here is the chocolate.
I forgot my camera to take a picture of the driver's seat.
Oh well.

He called me when he got into the truck and said 'Thank You".
When he got home he said that it made him feel good.

Mission Accomplished!

Don't wait to do something special for someone you love!!
